Even though Vail is on the pricey side it is what you are expecting. The services and amenities though are excellent. The skiing itself is fabulous with groomers, back bowls and more. We just loved our couple of days akiing there and will measure other resorts against Vail. Will most definately be back. |

Now that I've been around to other resorts, I call my experience at vail my "six flags" experience. Elbow to elbow enormity, huge groomers and enormous back bowls with a total of 3 trees. I found the mountain lacking in a comfortable scale, beauty, or wild peaceful terrain. The more I'm forced to go back the more I hate it. If you haven't been to many large resorts then you'll love your experience at vail, great choice for a ski trip. |

Vail is one of the biggest ski resorts in the world which means that it has a huge variety of runs. It encompasses three adjoining cities with a free bus system so you do not have to drive in the snow. It has quite a few good restaurants. Look up Vandetta's pizza place -- the best pizza! Christiana's is the best hotel for the money they serve a large wonderful breakfast. The Swiss hotel is second. If money is not an issue or you want to spurge then the Sonnen Alp is by far the best hotel in the valley. The ski school is a very good program with teachers from all over the world. If you have a fur coat ladies - bring it, everyone else wears one. Vail is a upper class, huge, beautiful, ski resort that is perfect for any skier. Do not be afraid of crowds because no matter how many people are there the lines are short. As I said Vail is huge. There is also tubing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, shopping, lodges , good food, good hotels and much much more. Vail is a skiers paradise!! |
