The largest cross country ski center in North America, with over 200 MILES of trails and a wide range of terrain. A little intimidating for the beginner, but they have a great range of trails for intermediate and advanced skiers, plus excellent amenities and facilities. Try a stay at the back-country (ski-in) lodge, featuring gourmet French country cuisine, or ski the Rainbow Interconnect to Rainbow Lodge. You can also ski to Sugar Bowl and use their lower slope... there's a shuttle to bring you back to Royal Gorge. An amazing place that still retains a friendly feel.
