Brian Head is a very small ski resort that seems to have a white out every time I go. It gets so windy and snowy I cannot see my more than ten feet in front of me. This can be bad because then you can pick a slope that is too hard or hit a skier who is going slowly. There are a few places to stay, only a couple restaurants including the cafeteria, and only two stores to rent or buy gear at. The lifts are slow so you freeze on the way up and the runs are short so you do not have time to enjoy the run before your on the lift freezing again. There are so few runs I sometimes spend the entire day on just three. It is OK for the first few times and it is the only ski resort worth mention within drive there and back again distance of Las Vegas and St. George, so that is why it stays in business. It is a 3 hour drive from Vegas. The roads up to it are not always perfectly plowed so if you have 4-wheel drive that is a good thing. It is better than no skiing, but not better than elsewhere.
