Click to report rating    8/5/11   5     4     3     4     4   We go to Mammoth Mountain every year and decided to try Whistler last Christmas. We must have been lucky with the weather…not slushy at all, even at the bottom. It was way too crowded; however, the mountain is so big we could usually find runs which were less crowded. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Squamish which saved us a lot of money, and we enjoyed the drive to Whistler every morning. We had a great time and LOVED the long runs. The staff in the restaurants was very nice; those running the lifts were not so nice. We would definitely go back again.  RID: 189

Click to report rating    7/27/10   5     2     1     3     1   Excellent terrain, but the weather is miserable most of the time, it is overpriced, the snow is inconsistent, 3/4 of the mountain is often slush, and the people are rude. Plus, if you're coming from another country, the border guards seem to have gestapo envy; I've been to over 30 countries and never been treated so poorly. Spend your money elsewhere.  RID: 175

Click to report rating    4/6/10   5     2     5     5     2   Be wary if coming from afar. Whistler can be a fantastic experience if you get lucky and get good weather. However, it is low down and on the windward side of the mountains, right by the ocean. We went for two weeks once. Every morning we heard rain on the metal roof of our condo. It rained on the bottom third of the hill every day. The top third had high winds, and was closed for 3 of the first 5 days. If you found a groomed blue in the middle third, it was wall-to-wall people since it was snowing so hard it was the only skiable terrain. Friday night, we hopped a "red-eye special" to Alberta and skied at Banff in beautiful sunshine for the entire second week. Never again for Whistler, unless we find ourselves living there and can "pick and choose" our days. I understand Whistler spends about ten times the $$$ per pillow in advertising relative to Banff. I understand why. Banff sells itself, whereas Whistler has to "buy" its clientele.  RID: 172

Click to report rating    8/18/09   5     4     4     5     3   Whistler is huge - there is no getting away from the size of the place and the runs are just fabulous as long as you don't go all the way down to the bottom. The snow condition on the bottom third of the mountain is not ideal due to the lower altitude. Whilst we love Whistler and have been there a couple of times and will return we do find it to be expensive. If you get a good weather week the scenery and views from the top of both mountains are incredible. It was also great to ski on a glacier for the first time. As long as you are aware of it's few shortcomings Whistler is a fantastic place to ski.  RID: 151

Click to report rating    3/22/09   5     5     5     5     4   I am a frequent/local snowboarder of Whistler Blackcomb, I do not work for them. Whistler Blackcomb is the best ski resort in north America. There are two gigantic mountains, which are connected by the newly opened Peak2Peak gondola, which can bring you to the other mountain if the one you are does not please you. Conditions: great, good snow, good snowmaking. Trails; a lot of great long trails, can get crowded during peak holiday season. The parks are good too. Lifts: almost all lifts are high-speed quads, there are also 4 gondolas. Service: whistler gets a lot of Australians, which is awesome because they are all super friendly! The ski instructors are very nice and knowledgable. Great mountain, kind of pricy, check for deals.  RID: 139
